At first glance Binary Domain looks like a Mass Effect rip-off; but with creative mind Toshihiro Nagoshi, creator of some of SEGA’s most well-known franchises at the helm, Binary Domain could redefine what “teamwork” means in a squad-based shooter.
From what we see in the “Consequence System” trailer, it looks very promising. Hopefully the trust levels will be many varying shades of grey and not simply 3 or 5 levels of trust. It would be great if you could get a squad member to trust you so implicitly that you could command them to run on ahead while you cover them; On the other hand, it would be hilarious to command a squad member to cover you and instead they charge head first causing the entire group to die.
Either way, this game is definately one to keep an eye on. Binary Domain is set to release on, interestingly enough, this upcoming Valentine’s day February 14, 2012.
