Several days ago, there were rumors floating around the internet that Square Enix will get a new name while retaining “Square” in a planned rebranding. Today, Square Enix released a statement via Twitter about this matter.
According to the recent tweet of Square Enix, the company [will] “have no plans to change our company name or branding.”
The said trademark that Square Enix filed doesn’t mean that the company will get a new name. It may probably something that they’re working on but for now, Square Enix’s name will remain the same.
