With all the gossip about PlayStation Vita, the PSP is doing okay for itself too. Sony has announced it has sold 70 million units worldwide.
This milestone was reached as of April 27, 2011. The PSP was first released on December 12, 2004 in Japan with subsequent releases after that in 2005 for various other countries around the world.
Software sales of the PSP has reached a staggering 298 million units with a total of over 2,180 titles available for the system.
Sony has promised it will continue to support the PSP even after the release of the PlayStation Vita.
