The PlayStation Network has been down for several hours worldwide as Sony mentions “it’s for maintenance”.
The European PlayStation Blog has addressed the issue stating the following:
“We’re aware certain functions of PlayStation Network are down. We will report back here as soon as we can with more information. We will also provide updates when we can via our @PlayStationEU twitter feed. Thank you for your patience.”
The US PlayStation Blog has also addressed the issue and asked gamers for patience as they try ans address the issue.
As of time of writing, the PSN has been down for several hours. This not only includes Europe and the USA as tweets from Japan suggest that the PSN is down over there too. The problem is also happening to gamers in New Zealand and Australia too. It looks like it’s a worldwide problem.

April 23, 2011 at 3:43 AMZach, calm the fuck down and make some friends in the fully-interactive, no glasses required 3D plane of existence that is known as “The Real World.” It’s well outside of the beta-testing stages and comes with some great, character-exclusive unlockables like, “Dignity,” “Pussy,” and “Not Going Off About How ‘OH NOES MAH VIDJA GAME BAWKS ARE DED AN NAO EYE CAN NO DO NOTHINS CUZ WEEKEND AM RUINED.'”
This message was masterfully penned on a 60gb PS3. Damian, thanks for the update.
