It’s Time for The Drop, the weekly preview of everything PlayStation that highlights all the new goods, games, and items on The PlayStation store.
Coming up this week of March 29th, you’ve got all-star wrestlers and then you’ve got fast, sleek cars that you may possibly never own. You’ve got golfers but then, you have alien parasites in The Big Apple (no, not Crysis 2. Awesome game though!) Finally, forget stealth! In games, sometimes you just want to Rush & Attack everything.
Some of the special highlights for this week:
Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed: Continuing the legacy that the first unleashed started, the NFS: Shift Unleashed 2 looks to bring back the new beast of racer that EA has brought forth. Building upon the benchmarks of the first, such as a renewed cockpit view and a driver battle system, Shift Unleashed 2 looks to be another worthy addition to the new NFS Franchise. Personally, Im still having a blast with NFS: Hot Pursuit so I may not pick this up right away. However, if the past two games indicate anything, this game looks just as awesome!
Rush N’ Attack: Ex-Patriot: Games such as Bionic Commando: Rearmed sent forth a new wave of reviving some of our favored classic games into the current generation. Next up on that list is an HD revitalized favorite, Rush N’ Attack:Ex-Patriot. THe 80’s game had one mode of play: Rush and attack everything you see. In this new game, you infiltrate secret bases, airfields, and caves to dismantle the threat posed by The Soviet Union. Be careful though, it won’t be easy as the original was known for its sheer challenge. Remember, in Soviet Russia, video game play you! I’ll most likely be purchasing this!
SPLIT/SECOND: What many define as the racing experience as 2010 comes to the PSN as a download only title. It’s also available on store shelves but for those with huge HDD’s and prefer a digital experience, this game makes its debut on the PSN. I played and reviewed this game: IT IS AWESOME! For once, racing isn’t just about getting first place: its about survival, and then first place. Split/Second places you on a reality TV show where you have to race and survive to the end. With every part of the course destructible, SPLIT/SECOND provides a trill ride no other games can give you! No turn is safe, every building can destroy you, and you’ll be literally winning races by a hair! An absolute must own!
Other Game’s include
The 3rd Birthday (PSP), a direct sequel to the PSone classics, Parasite Eve 1 &2
Sonic The Hedgehog : The game that started SEGA’s rise to rock-star status comes to PSN. Laced with trophies and HD support, it is a must own for fans of the blue blur.
Dragon’s Lair– Don Bluth’s Quick time classic makes its way to the PSP providing a whit-knuckle challenged but very creative gaming experience for all PSP owner to enjoy.
