While the Xbox LIVE dashboard update today which is mandatory was supposed to get gamers ready for Kinect it seems to have brought a few problems with it. There is a bit of a range on the problems it has caused and these have only happened to a small minority of people so don’t worry too much.
The few known problems 360 owners have found have so far been: Microsoft Points have magically gone from some gamers XBL Accounts, some 360 have found their arcade games not work and some have even commented that fan inside the Xbox 360 has become louder. If your account balance has changed or gone to put your mind at rest you can check it online and not just on your Xbox 360.
This has no doubt been caused by the floods of people downloading the Fall Dashboard Update; the main reason is without updating you can’t play online. As I stated this is only for the minority so don’t put off updating especially if you can’t wait to get Kinect.

November 1, 2010 at 6:55 PMsince loading the update this morning, 10.00am GMT, i’ve had constant problems downloading content from live, sending mesages and generally signing in. Obviously if you’re not in the minority then good times.. however has anyone heard what Xbox plan to do about those that this is affecting?

November 1, 2010 at 7:57 PMI’ve had problems today getting signed into Xbox Live after the update as well as getting prompted for additional updates without an option to save. Sigh. Hopefully the bugs we’ll be worked out this week.

November 1, 2010 at 11:45 PMMy xbox kept freezing when i play a game. It didn’t happen until I updated it. Now it won’t even turn on, it keeps saying Error E71 or sometimes error e79. Is there anyway i can uninstall the update or a way to fix it?

November 2, 2010 at 1:10 AMUnfortunately no, your system has experienced the NAND going bad. You might get lucky and get Microsoft to replace it but you will need to fight for it. Make sure you EMPHASIZE that it was working find previously.

November 2, 2010 at 5:37 PMAlso the loading has become slower and when i sign in to MSN it seperates my LIVE friends from MSN ones and it defaults my Gamertag as my msn display name, not all of us will use kinect, liked old dashboard much more than this white garbage.

November 23, 2010 at 10:50 PMThere are hundreds of issues being posted on official xbox live forums ranging from frozen systems to completely bricked consoles. All occurring immediately after the update. Hundreds. My system started freezing the day after the update then eventually got the red ring of death. game over. off to a landfill. Microsoft offered to allow me to pay them to fix my system. I told them to shove it. I see a class action suit in the near future.

December 31, 2010 at 6:30 PMI did the update and now when I go to watch Netflix or Zune I get a message saying HDCP Link lost,or something like that. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. Any Ideas would greatly appreciated. My Xbox is connected by HDMI and I have tried swapping cords, inputs,tv’s and I’m getting frustrated. Thanks in advance.
