Today Konami Digital Entertainment has announced Silent Hill 8 (working title) is in the works and will be released in 2011 for the PS3 & Xbox 360. The main character this time is convict Murphy Pendleton who has been stranded in Silent Hill when the prisoner transport he was on crashes. According to the press release it will have a new storyline and side quests that can change depending on how the player goes about completing them. Players will have the ability to use everyday items like “wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies.” It will have all the psychological horror elements fans are used to seeing in the franchise.
