THQ has made the massive claim that is open world game Saints Row 3’s graphics will match that of Rockstar’s GTA IV. Danny Bilson, from THQ core games, stated that Saints Row 3 is built on “brand new” technology , perhaps a brand new engine not just a tweaked one.
When talking about THQ putting Saint Row 3’s release date back to next year Bilson said the reason was “Quality. Look at the visual quality of Saint’s Row 2. When you see Saints Row 3, it’s the visual quality of the GTA IV universe. It goes up there. It still has the wacky, insane stuff. It’s going to get really big and really loud in December. And as soon as you see the assets, the gamers will go: ‘Oh, I know what they invested in. The technology.’
Lets hope this ‘new technology’ can produce a great title to freshen up the open world genre.
