Sega is pleased to announce today that they will be bringing Marvel’s Mighty Thor on the five major video game consoles in early 2011.
“We are proud to be bringing Marvel’s Thor to his first solo video game adventure,” commented Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA America. “Thor: The Video Game will finally bring the immense power of this iconic hero to lifelong fans, and introduce the God of Thunder to a whole new audience as a true Marvel Super Hero.”
After Iron Man, we will finally get to experience an all new Marvel Super Hero game right on our Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and PSP. Thor: The Video Game will take players on an epic adventure of Thor as he save Asgard, the capital city of the Norse Gods. Thor must overcome monstrous foes lifted from the pages of the comics including Ymir, and Surtur, as well as other enemies. . As Thor earns Valor points through his exploits, players can acquire new abilities, powers, and weapon upgrades.
Each of the versions will have an exclusive features suited for its platform. With the PS3 and Xbox 360 version, it will feature a cinematic scenes, third person action combat, ranged hammer throws and upgrade system to make Thor an invisible god. For the Wii version, the game will feature the same storyline as the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it will also utilize the technology of the Wii Remote and the Nunchuck. The cinematics will be presented with a unique styled comic book that will be also the same on the PSP version. As for the Nintendo DS, players will experience a 2D side-scrolling adventure.
