A realistic model of an assault rifle has been turned into a PS3 controller. The peripheral was developed by CTA Digital.
Although you cannot use the rifle/controller to point and shoot at enemies, (like a light gun or Wii controller) it still promises to deliver a unique gaming experience. The controller has a built-in speaker so whenever you pull the trigger, realistic gun sounds will be heard. The device has every button a normal PS3 controller has. The trigger acts like the R1 button and there are both analogue sticks on the gun used for aiming and running. The controller is wireless and runs on two AA batteries. It also comes with a scope and stock.
The controller is said to be compatible with most first person shooter games such as Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
You can purchase the CTA Digital Assault Rifle Controller for $65 when it goes on sale August 2nd at Amazon.com. Click here for the product listing.
