Famitsu.com conducted an interview with Tomonobu Itagaki to know more about his upcoming new game: Devil’s Third.
The site asked if the game was a shooter title. Itagaki did not give a straight answer for this but said that it’s not “bound within the shooting genre”. Meaning there could be other gameplay elements incorporated into the game judging by his comment.
As seen in the recent trailer there appeared to be one male and one female character shown. When asked about whether these two characters were playable or not Itagkai responded “these areas aren’t set yet” and that “this game is still like a baby. It will likely change from here on out.”
He went on to say that the trailer was just a concept and that the game will elements of close combat, shooting, violence and three-dimensional gameplay.
The trailer makes out that the game is very fast-paced. Itagaki said that “there are levels to the movement speed, and what you were seeing was an extremely high speed situation.” So the whole game is not played at that insane speed. A further said that the movement of your speed changes depending on which weapon you use.
The game will have a multitude of weapons for the player to choose from and some customization options will be available for your guns. As for hand-to-hand combat Itagaki saidcthat the inclusion of true martial arts will be one of the more unique features in the game.
Online play is also in the works with your usual standard battles, survival and team battles. He said that the team’s past work with the Xbox 360 made online a must for Devil’s Third.
Sadly, he did not state a possible release date for the game. He only said that it will be released at the best time.
