Man Arrested For Selling Modified Wiis

Police in Japan have arrested a 53-year-old man on copyright violations for selling pirated Wii games and modified Wii hardware.

The man sold three modified Wiis and 8 DVD-R8 discs during the course of January 6 through March 19. It is said that the suspect sold these items to two men in Tokyo. The games included were Animal Crossing City Folk, One Piece Unlimited Cruise Episode 2, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time and Resident Evil.

The man earned ¥97,000 for the sales. Police have reported that the man has been doing this sort of thing for over two years. In those two years the man amassed ¥3 million in sales.

The man has admitted to the crime and is currently in Tokyo for further processing.
