Activision CEO and President Bobby Kotick revealed recently that a follow up to the turn-tables music game DJ Hero will be released at some point this year.
When asked in an interview with Game Informer whether Activision would be creating any new franchises, he revealed plans for a second DJ Hero, and presumably several more sequels.
I think DJ Hero is a really innovative product. I can’t wait for you to see next year’s. That’s the thing; we’re sticking with it. We’ll stick with it and get it right. But it’s going to be less games, better games. That’s our strategy.
Considering Activision’s tendency to release more games than Simpsons episodes, it’s safe to say a new franchise has been born. Check back in the future to hear more on the latest Hero game.
