Looking to purchase Heavy Rain? You might want to save an extra 4.2GB of space in your hard drive as the game will REQUIRE (as the game boxart suggests) you to install the game’s data in order to proceed. It sure is a lot of space but as you are waiting for the data to install in your hard drive, there will be a guide showing you on how to make a Swan Origami (as featured in the game) while you’re waiting for the game to install. There are twelve steps to make it and I am sure by the time you are done making your origami, the installation will be done.
Want to know what I thought about Heavy Rain? Read our hands-on impression. Check back for full review on February 10th! (Yes, the review is already done. Just waiting for the embargo to lift up!)

January 30, 2010 at 7:53 PMisnt this normal practice about the back of a box saying its going to need x amount of space, due to dlc? this game might not need an install at all, but its there because of the upcoming DLC packs
wtf
January 31, 2010 at 12:38 AMwhat i dont get is how can a game like killzone 2 and uncharted 2 didnt required install to play but heavy rain does. seriously even if u have 500gb hard drive it doesn’t take many games installs to fill it up quick

January 31, 2010 at 8:38 AMI only have a 40 GB HDD in my PS3. What are theese devs playing at? Sony should ban devs from forcing mandatory installs on consumers just to make the game work, it’s ridiculous.
Having an optional installation is fine but when they’re wanting to dump 4 – 5 GB’s of data on you it should NEVER be mandatory.

January 31, 2010 at 10:22 AMinstalls, big deal! I dont mind waiting for an install for an incredible game. anyone with a ps3 will not have hard drive space issues, if so, upgrade.

January 31, 2010 at 11:40 AMIt’s funny when people make a big deal about HD requirements for PS3 games. In fact THAT is the advantage of PS3 games, as opposed to XBOX 360 that wasn’t designed from scratch for HD installs, thus dividing the user base between XBOX Arcade owners and the rest.
