I recently got some time to sit down with the final build of Dead Space: Extraction for the Nintendo Wii. I finished the first chapter and figured I’d write up a quick impression of the game thus far.
The events in Extraction take place before the original game. A group of colonists arrive to extract the marker, but something goes arwy and now it’s up to a man named Sam Coldwell to figure out just what’s going on and get out in one piece. From there, prepare yourself to control the survivors of the Colony and Ishumura. Are you prepared to face your fear?

Main Highlights
– The game is composed of a Story Mode and a Challenge mode. Since I have yet to finish the game, the only mode I’ve spent any amount of time with is story mode. The game is divided into different chapters though I don’t know exactly how many just yet, hopefully a lot Expect to see a lot of areas from the first game as well as new ones.
– Dead Space Extraction is a rail first person shooter similar to the classic arcade game House of the Dead, or the recent Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.
– You will be able to use your Wii Remote more effectively. From using the stasis, to your Ripper, the Wii Remote will be fully utilized in this game.
Explore the Ishumura once again.
Our Thoughts?
So far Dead Space: Extraction is pretty good. While it doesn’t come close to the original, it’s different gameplay and use of motion controls has help set it apart from it’s older brother on PS3 and 360. Check back soon for the full review of Dead Space: Extraction.
