Terminal Reality’s upcoming FPS The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct (separate of Telltale Games’ episodic releases) will be shambling onto Wii U alongside PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. This news came via Glenn Gamble, the game’s producer, who stated that they really wanted to custom-tailor the experience for Nintendo’s next-gen system, specifically the GamePad.
We didn’t want to change the game because the game had already been established, so we tried to say ‘What can we augment with the Wii U version?’ That’s where it’s basically a more elegant inventory management system. With the Wii U you have access to your backpack at all times, so you can tag what weapons you want, you can drop stuff. It’s a lot more streamlined.
In addition to this exciting news, Gamble also revealed the release date for the first-person, zombie survival game. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be available in stores on March 26th in North America and March 29th in Europe. With the date set, we should be seeing more screenshots, trailers and possibly pre-order incentives cropping out soon. However, I’m sure everyone is wondering how Terminal Reality’s FPS will stack up against Telltale Games’ downloadable masterpiece.
