It has been revealed that THQ’s assets will be sold via in auction by a “title-by-title” basis.
On January 22nd, the company’s assets (which include four game development studios and multiple game franchises) will be sold via an auction to the highest bidder.
Not only does this include game franchises, but also publishing rights for games still in development too.
It was rumored a few weeks ago that Ubisoft was interested in buying out the bankrupt THQ. Now it will have to compete with other gaming publishers for the company’s assets.
Depending on what happens on January 22nd, EA might develop and publish WWE video games from now on while Ubisoft could publish future Saint’s Row games. Whatever happens, it will be interesting to see the end results!
