In a new interview with Edge, Dark Souls II’s co-director Tomohiro Shibuya talks about the possibility of making Dark Souls II more accessible and easier for some gamers.
Although both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls were well received by both critics and gamers alike, their hard difficulties is what scared some people from playing the games at all. Others who have played them, gave up and quit playing altogether.
Here’s what Shibuya had to say about this issue:
“Accessibility to players who haven’t picked up Dark Souls is definitely a key topic. Right in the beginning when players first pick up the game is something that I will definitely focus on. To not immediately throw them into Dark Souls but provide a good introduction in terms of what the game’s about and how the game should be played.”
“Making it more accessible to players is something that I want to express… I will follow the same concept as Dark Souls, but there were a lot of hidden story elements that some players may not have caught before and I’m hoping to make some of that a little bit more clear or directly expressed to the player as well.”
If you played both Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls before, would you like to see Dark Souls II become a little easier?

any one scared away by the prospect of dying in a game should probably stick with facebook “games”
