A handful of rumors have emerged regarding the Resident Evil Franchise, and some are quite exciting. There are three Resident Evil games coming soon according to Dual Pixel’s informant Geno — he revealed Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Castlevania: Mirror of Fate and Kingdom Hearts HD Collection before their official announcements — and they include a complete edition, an HD port and a sequel.
First up, we have Resident Evil 6: Final Hope. Much like Resident Evil 5’s Gold Edition, Final Hope is said to be a complete version of Resident Evil 6 containing all released DLC, gameplay/bug fixes and a new scenario starring Claire. At the moment, the rumor only states that Final Hope is coming to the Wii U, but its Nintendo exclusivity was never confirmed by the source.
Resident Evil: Revelations came to 3DS earlier this year and lately there has been talk about an HD version for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Geno has confirmed this information and has added that the Wii U will also be receiving the HD port. No further information on extra content is known at this time.
Finally, we have the sequel. Are you ready for a shocker? Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is getting a sequel, despite its terrible reception. The game’s ending did leave it open for another entry, but given the massive amount of criticism the game faced, it’s surprising that Capcom would take another risk. The sequel, said to be titled Operation Terrestrial Fear, is said to be coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and Wii U.
The legitimacy of these rumors can not be confirmed at this time and some (or all) may not be outed until E3 2013, assuming they do exist. Would you pick up any of these titles? Let us know in the comment section below.

December 1, 2012 at 3:08 PMI could sort of see Operation Raccoon City getting a sequel., the basic concept behind the game was great. A 4-person co-op game set in a zombie outbreak, where different characters had different abilities to bring to the table, and an infection mechanic for players becoming zombies. The gameplay just wasn’t well-executed… which, obviously is kind of a big deal.
What it needs is:
– better AI, especially for teammates
– a more random and constant nature of zombies attacking you. The best parts of the game were where the zombies kept on coming.
– more variety in enemies, zombies are fine as a staple, but intersperse a few more big enemies in there
– a better character-reviving system. More like L4D’s system than respawning dead characters with you at every checkpoint and being able to pick allies up without limit when killed. It was pretty silly that sometimes you would just shoot your infected teammate in the head to kill them, then pick them up with full health and ammo.
– replentishing ammo shouldn’t be mainly done from ammo boxes, except for maybe in boss fights. They should have it mainly drop from creatures you kill, like the actual RE games.
– if sniper rifles are going to be useless, just remove them from the game. They were terrible in ORC.
– fewer (or no) fights against enemies with guns. I guess this would eliminate the mechanic of shooting an enemy to wound him and set zombies off against them instead of you, but while that sounded great as a concept, it wasn’t really a big part of the game anyway.

December 1, 2012 at 4:17 PMWould definitely pick up the Revelations port.
The ORC sequel sounds interesting as well. Maybe they could set in during the Rockfort Island Incident or something.

December 4, 2012 at 8:46 PMI was hoping that they would finally port Resident Evil: Remake and RE 0 to the ps3 but I see that’s not happening anytime soon. I don’t know what’s stopping them from doing so once both games especially the Remake was well received by fans. They’ve already done it with the Darkside Chronicles and Umbrella Chronicles which were just okay shooters but weren’t great Resident Evil games. At least Revelations will be ported which is just splendid . I haven’t played it yet but judging by the footages I’ve seen on youtube it’s truly nothing short of a masterpiece. Capcom knows how to make good games but it’s sad that they’re bound by exclusive deals: Nintendo shouldn’t have had all the rights to Resident Evil and RE0. In the end the fans were the only losers.

January 1, 2013 at 3:47 PMOperation Terrestrial Fear sounds like a bad name, more like a parody sequel done be the public. The wii u port for RE6 + exclusive content would be fantastic as well as an RE5: gold edition, since they are both not in any nintendo console. I think the wii u should have its fair share of resident evil titles as well as getting a share of revelations to ps3 and xbox. I would think though that nintendo could probably get whatever they want and keep whatever they want for themselves after all they are THE best
