An ex-Sony PR representative has publicly slammed his former company after recent layoffs that left him, and the majority of his colleagues, out of a job last week.
Will Powers, best known as the winner of season 1 of The Tester – Sony’s reality show, was so enraged that he took to Twitter to voice exactly what he thought of his former company’s decision with some rather harsh words.
“You have to wonder what the hell PlayStation was thinking laying off more than half of their software PR team going into the holiday season,” Powers wrote. “In typical fashion they’re sending titles out to die, because they have no PR support — Little Big Planet Karting, Sports Champions 2, Wonderbook.”
“Worst part is, the PR department was already under-staffed. I feel sorry for those that remain there, because their workload just doubled. That being said, you have to question the priorities of the company as a whole – What the point of AdHoc multiplayer when no one has a Vita?”
In an earlier exchange, Powers wrote that “Sony’s priorities aren’t what they used to be. They’ve definitely lost touch with their audience.”
A link to Will’s Twitter page can be found here, although he has since now removed the tweets because “They served their purpose and have reached their intended audience”
Maybe he should give his brother Austin a call for a new job.

September 25, 2012 at 10:58 AMBefore I would just said that this guy is bitter thay he go laid off but I think he has a point. Sony biggest issues this generation is marketing their product. Sony’s first party games are awesome but the sale numbers will contradict that. Uncharted, god of war, heavy rain, and many other are very great exclusive games but Sony suck at letting people know about them.
