Famitsu magazine has revealed that the B-movie stylized, cult classic Earth Defense Force will be receiving a fourth entry. Earth Defense Force 4 will release in 2013 on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan. Although other territories were not confirmed, the inclusion of an Xbox 360 version has led many to believe that it is headed to North America and Europe, as well.
Details are scarce, but we do know that the latest installment will take place eight years after EDF 3 and support “online play for a large number of people”. It seems you’ll be able to call upon more than six friends (the number of people allowed in last year’s Insect Armageddon) to help take on the hordes of over-sized ants, or any other of the enlarged, cheesy creatures.
