Following suit of previous console LittleBigPlanet titles, future DLC costumes will be fully compatible with all future LittleBigPlanet titles, Media Molecule revealed today.
According to Steven Isbell, all costumes that you bought as DLC from LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 will be usable in both LittleBigPlanet Vita as well as LittleBigPlanet Karting. There are three things to be noted about this statement:
- First off, this only means costumes, and levels packs have been confirmed as something that will NOT carry over.
- It will take some time to get all costumes processed and working, though some will be available at launch.
- Both Assassin’s Creed costumes (AC2 Ezio & AC:R Ezio) & the April Fools Fragrance Costume (Hessian Sackboy Fragrances) will NOT be available in LittleBigPlanet Karting.
Media Molecule claims that “You won’t have to wait too long though!” to get all of the costumes made fully compatible. The full catalog is planned to be available for LBP Vita no later than December of this year. All DLC costumes in the future will be compatible across all games, including but not limited to the Bioshock & Knights of Old costumes that are currently pre-order Vita bonuses. Finally, PSP items will not be included in any of this compatibility. I would not count on LittleBigPlanet 2/Vita/Karting DLC being compatible with LittleBigPlanet 1.
