After teasing an announcement for GRID 2 a few days ago, Codemasters has indeed officially announced the game is in development.
The game is set to be released sometime in 2013 and will take you across circuits and mountain tops around USA, Europe and Japan again. Paris and Miami are new cities that will be included in GRID 2.
Codemasters says there will still be offline split-screen two player plus a ton of online modes. The first GRID game had one of the most realistic damage physics ever seen in a video game and GRID 2 is set to improve on this aspect with an all-new game engine.
“GRID’s back and we’re going to make street, track and road racing exciting again,” promises exec producer, Clive Moody. “The core design philosophy for GRID 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Everything that goes into the game impacts on that second-to-second, in the moment, blockbuster drama – the feel and personality of the race.”
GRID 2 will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
