Although SEGA officially stopped manufacturing consoles due to its ill fated Dreamcast last decade it seems now that SEGA is ready to forget the past and has produced another console.
Don’t get too excited though as this new console dubbed the “SEGA Zone’ won’t be directly competing with the likes of the PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii. This “new” console is more like a retro-style console that comes preloaded with classic Sega titles. This includes the likes of Ecco the Dolphin and Alex the Kid. Not only this but some of the titles will now be motion controlled.
The console will ship with two wireless remote controls for use with games such as golf and table tennis which are preloaded alongside the classic SEGA titles.
The SEGA Zone is due to release in the summer (Australian and NZ winter) and is expected to cost £50.
