When Tekken Hybrid was released, there was a very limited version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 included. The game featured fantastic visuals, stunning models and some interesting changes to the combat system. However any fighting game can look good with 4 fighters, so how does the real deal stack up?
As seen in prologue, the game looks amazing. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is easily the best looking Tekken game and many of the settings were quite vibrant. Surpirisingly the game retained a smmoth frame rate too, so it’s not like this quality came with a price.
Sure the graphics look cool, but the real highlight is the importance of fighting as a team. Like the original game, if either fighter gets knocked out, then you just lost. Since no one wants to go down without a fight, you usually ended up fighting both of them regardless. However the new teamwork mechanics in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 resolves this.
You see, the tag concept is fully utalized here, Various attacks can easily lead to your partner taking over or you can do a devastating combo attack. These new powers are so great, that you can actually make quick work of a unskilled fighter. Sadly this raises the learning curve, though it’s surprisingly easy to do once you get the hang on if.
With the huge roster and amazing visuals, it’s hard not to like Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Since the tag is realized here, it stands out a little more than simply having the characters cross over. Sure the combos are triicky, but that just makes the reward far better. If you were a fan of Prologue or the original Tag, then you’re ssure to love this game.

I tried to avoid comparing the two, but it looked a lot sharper and clearer.
