Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Trophy & Achievement Guide

Capcom has become rather infamous in various departments. One of these are incredibly difficult trophies/achievements. These tasks can range from becoming #1 in the world, to playing 300+ hours. Marvel vs Capcom 3 was a surprising easy platinum/1,000, but Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is in no way easy.

This guide will show you how to do some of the basic tasks and give you an idea of what’s required for the other tasks. Be warned that some tasks require high amounts of skill and that’s unavoidable.

Editors Note: This guide is formatted with accordance with PS3 tier’s. All mention methods will work on both system and should be universal.

Bronze

Devil with a Blue Coat

Earn 30,000 Player Points (PP).

Strategy: See “Divine Brawler”.

Gravity? Please…

Land 50 Team Aerial Combos. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: Aerial combos are extremely easy to accomplish. Basically you need to hit someone with your S attack (launches them), once they’re in the air you need to perform some kind of combo. After you finish, push another direction and the special button. This will cause you to do a Team Aerial Combo. You can perform three per combo.

Big Bang Theory

Perform 30 Hyper Combo Finishes. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: Another very easy task. First off you need to have a hyper bar. Once you’re certain the attack will kill them (even with chip damage), go X factor and push both assists. This will do at least one hyper instantly. Ideally this will do enough damage to finish them off. Rinse and repeat till you get the trophy.

First Strike

Land 50 First Attacks. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: This will come naturally.

Defender

Block 100 times. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: This will come naturally.

Above Average Joe

Land a Viewtiful Combo. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: See “Mutant Master”.

Mutant Master

Land an Uncanny Combo. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: This is achieved by doing over 91 hits. This sounds far harder than it is. Select three fighters who have good projectile hyper attacks. Wait for an attack to connect and then push both assists at the same time. This will force the attack to hit the target. If you’re having more problems, check the images below.

Also keep in mind that defeating someone ends the combo, so make sure the enemy can take the combo too.

Saving My Quarters

Beat Arcade mode without using any continues.

Strategy: There are two basic methods to pulling this off.

1. Select a projectile character. Someone like taskmaster will blow away most enemies.
2. Put it on very easy and select characters you know well.

A Warrior Born

Earn 5,000 Player Points (PP).

Strategy: This should come after you finish 2 – 3 arcade goes.

The Best There Is

Beat Arcade mode on the hardest difficulty.

Strategy: Change your playstyle to “simple”. Select Taskmaster and spam his projectile attack. On simple the move is performed by pushing your M attack button. You can also do it normally, but it requires more skill.

The Points Do Matter

Earn 400,000 points in Arcade mode.

Strategy: See “High-Score Hero”

Mission? Possible.

Clear 120 missions in Mission mode.

Strategy: See “Master of Tasks”.

Mega Buster

Use 1,000 Hyper Combo Gauge bars. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: In the usual match, you should average 5+ hyper gauge bars. Off of this sum, only 200 matches are required for the trophy. To beat the game as everyone, you will spend 336 matches playing. There is no secret past, burn the ones you got at the end. I usually push both assists, which will perform a 1 – 3x person hyper combo. Either or it will occur naturally.

Advancing Guardian

Perform 100 Advancing Guards. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: When someone is attacking you, ideally you will be blocking. If you push two attacks while blocking, the game should give you an advancing guard. Rinse and repeat till the trophy pops.

A Friend in Need

Perform 100 Crossover Assists. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: During a match you can call forth your partner. Simply do that 100 times for the trophy.

Savage Playing

Perform 50 Snap Backs. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: If you hold the assist button, you will swap with that partner. Rinse and repeat till it pops.

Quick Change-Up

Perform 50 Crossover Counters. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: Simply push forward and an assist while being attacked. This should result in a crossover counter. If you’re unsure, the game will call it a crossover counter on screen.

Perfect X-ample

Use X-Factor 50 times. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: Prior to ending each fight, push all attack buttons. This will give you X factor. Rinse and repeat till you get the trophy.

Mighty Teamwork

Land 30 Team Aerial Counters. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: Some people will knock you in the air for a combo. Sometimes they will attempt a crossover attack, but if you push the same inputs as them (S + a the same direction) while they’re doing it, you should perform an Aerial Counter.

Hard Corps

Perform 30 Crossover Combination Finishes. (Arcade/Online)

Strategy: Push both assists at the same time and finish off an enemy.

Training Montage

Play in Offline Mode for over 5 hours.

Strategy: See “Play in Isolation”.

Play in Isolation

Play in Offline Mode for over 30 hours.

Strategy: Between challenges, arcade, and trying to get 500,000 in arcade mode, you should get this trophy.

Seductive Embrace

Play online for over 5 hours.

Strategy: See “Rivals Welcome”.

Brave New World

Participate in any mode online.

Strategy: Play an online mode.

Hellbent

Participate in over 100 matches online.

Strategy: Play over 100 matches.

Dreaded Opponent

Participate in over 200 matches online.

Strategy: Play over 200 matches.

Incredible

Win without calling your partners or switching out in an online match.

Strategy: Find someone willing to let you just win or find someone whom is just awful at playing. Either or this shouldn’t give you many problems.

Need a Healing Factor

Win without blocking online.

Strategy: Find someone willing to just let you win or find a cheap tactic that works. Many people have problems with projectile spammers. Please note, any less than skillful tactic may result in hate mail.

Crazy Good

Surpass the rank of Fighter.

Strategy: Just keep wining fights.

Hotshot

Win 10 battles in Ranked Match.

Strategy:  see “Fighting Machine”.

Slam Master

Win 50 battles in Rank Match.

Strategy: See “Fighting Machine”.

Noble Effort

Get a 5-game win streak in Ranked Match.

Strategy: See “Fighting Machine”.

Assemble!

Participate in an 8 player lobby online.

Strategy: Find a room with 7 people online and join.

Passport to Beatdown Country

Fight in all of the stages.

Strategy: This should come to you almost naturally. By the time you finish arcade with the new characters, you should have every stage played with the exception of two. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure Danger Room and Training do not cycle in arcade. Simply boot up a training stage on these levels for the trophy. If you’re in a rush, you can simply boot up training on every stage in order.

Silver

High-Score Hero

Earn 500,000 points in Arcade mode.

Strategy: Believe it or not, in my opinion this is the hardest trophy in the game. Prior to this guide I tried many methods to perform this task.

Failed Methods:

• Beat the game as Taskmaster on Hardest. – around 270k
• Beat the game as Taskmaster on Very Easy. – around 320k
• Perform a perfect on every stage, but Galactus. – Around 370k
• Beat the game with mostly perfects and a hyper combo finish on everyone (all 3, not just overall) – 350k

As far as I can tell, to breach the 500,000 bar you need to perform two tasks. Destroy your enemy and make sure they perform zero attacks. Even blocking will void a perfect. In addition you must be very varied. I got several thousand more per stage for being more aggressive. Sadly these two things require genuine skill… so the only advice I can give you is that difficulty has no apparent effect on scores.

Up To The Challenge

Clear 240 missions in Mission mode.

Strategy:  See “Master of Tasks”.

Master of Tasks

Clear 480 missions in Mission mode.

Strategy: There are 48 characters and 10 tasks per character. If you’re bad at math (or lazy), this is doing every mission. However there are 50 characters POSSIBLE in the game. If you buy Jill/Shuma, you’re given at most a 20 Mission buffer.

Each mission comes down to knowing what to do and muscle memory. The only advice I can give you is to take them slow. This might sound silly, but if you focus on the task at hand, it’s not as hard as it might seem.

Rivals Welcome

Play online for over 30 hours.

Strategy: This should occur naturally through normal gameplay.

Forged From Steel

Participate in over 300 matches online.

Strategy: Play over 300 matches.

Full Roster

Battle against all characters online.

Strategy: Find a partner and go down the list.

Mega Good

Surpass the 6^th rank of any class.

Strategy:  Just keep winning fights.

Fighting Machine

Win 100 battles in Ranked Match.

Strategy: There isn’t a lot of advice out there, but this is a great overall method. As soon as you buy the game, play online. Select characters you know and hope you get matched with someone looking to have fun. The people looking to have fun usually will select characters they can’t fight with, so they’re FAR easier to beat. There is still a degree of luck involved, but still easily doable.

Dominator

Collect 100 Titles.

Strategy: Set your game to “simple” and select Taskmaster. After you select him, pick a fighter you lack the ending for, then set the game to hardest. Make it to the end spamming your projectile till you hit the end. Upon getting to Galactus, make sure the desired fighter gets the final hit. This should result in 2 titles per ending (96 overall). The remaining 4 should come along the way. Realistically you should get the trophy prior to even finishing arcade as everyone.

Divine Brawler

Earn 100,000 Player Points (PP)

Strategy: This should come prior to beating the game as everyone.

Gold

Waiting for the Trade

View all endings in Arcade mode.

Strategy: Beat the arcade as everyone (including Galactus). If you’re having problems, select people you know and the person you want to finish arcade with. Have the mains do all the work, but swap out to the desired character at the end. As long as they perform the final hit, you will get their ending.
