The Japanese gaming media had a chance to play Final Fantasy XIII-2 for 13 hours and revealed a ton of interesting new facts about the game.
As reported by Andriasang, the likes of Famitsu.com, Impress Watch and 4 Gamer shared their impressions on the first 13 hours of Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Here’s a summary of all the good parts:
Item Seller
Unlike in Final Fantasy XIII, there’s a person selling items for you and not just a sphere. You will see a girl named “Chocolena” who wears Chocobo clothing. She appears in all locations.
Towns Are Back
If there was anything missing in Final Fantasy XIII, it was the fact the game has no towns. In Final Fantasy XIII-2, towns are here. Unlike in previous Final Fantasy games, towns can be entered seamlessly. There’s no loading screen of change of gameplay camera to signal the differences.
Side-Quests
Some NPC’s will offer side-quests for you to complete. These includes the likes of seeking a lost item or hunting for a specific monster.
Live Trigger
“Live Trigger” is the feature that allows you to interact in certain conversations. The story may develop differently as a result of this.
Short Load Times
Final Fantasy XIII-2 has very short loading times. It’s said you can save at any time too to allow for stress free gaming.
Character Growth
Unlike in Final Fantasy XIII-2, each character only has “one Crystarium that’s used for all the roles”.
Battle
If you want a monster to join your party, all you have to do is defeat it and it will turn into a crystal. Each monster has its own special skills so it pays to have them on your team.
Final Fantasy
November 2, 2011 at 8:34 AMThere’s still one missing – airships! These gameplay improvements look to revive, at least, the spirit that gave rise to the prominence of Final Fantasy, but leaving airships out of the picture is just wrong!
Well, there’s always teleportation!
