As reported by Gamersmint, sales for Resistance 3 weren’t as high as anticipated and Insomniac Games has responded to this on twitter.
Community Manager for Insomniac Games, James Stevenson, commented on the story and felt it was unfair to compare sales figures of a multiplatform game like Dead Island to Resistance 3.
Furthermore, Insomniac Games responded on twitter that the sales of 180,000 units in North America was accurate. They said “but that was still good enough for #7 on the US charts”.
It appears as if Insomniac Games are satisfied with the numbers Resistance 3 has sold thus far. Although it’s hard to comprehend this is far from the 385,000 units sold back in 2008 when Resistance 2 was released. This number too reflects only the first month sold in the USA.
Resistance 2 went on to sell 3 million copies worldwide. It’s sad to see that it’s unlikely Resistance 3 will do the same.
