Warhammer 40k: Space Marine is not getting a sequel.
Don’t freak out yet, guys, it’s cool, it’s cool, I liked it too. Here’s the deal.
Danny Bilson of THQ has talked in length about the fact that Space Marine isn’t doing bad, the fanbase was pleased and it was considered, at least in most reviews, an above average game.
However, with the Warhammer MMO coming out in 2013, there appears to be no room for a sequel to Space Marine.
THQ, who had previously announced intentions to focus more on making fewer, better games than spreading themselves out too thin, said alongside Saints Row The Third, 2012 is going to be an exceptionally busy year regardless.
“We’ve got WWE on the 22nd of November, UFC 3 in February, and then Darksiders 2 will be our next big release after that. It’s coming, we’re just finishing it up, it’s really great.”
At least the MMO will be fun. Hopefully. But then, Space Marine was good.

Yeah, great idea…
“Hey, let’s end the campaign with a cliffhanger then scrap part 2!”
I’m so sick of this game by this point. The single player was satisfying but short, the multiplayer has been consistently broken, co-op mode that should’ve been in the game to begin with is running a month behind, and I’m not sure I care at this point to wait around for DLC.
For all the fun I have had with this game, it’s given me just as many headaches. I, personally, have never seen a game launch handled this horribly and if I weren’t a fan of 40k I wouldn’t even own it anymore.
