If you’re currently playing Resistance 3 with a friend, you will know that the game is still relatively challenging. Thanks to the life bar system, you will have to share health packs as well as ammo.
Players who are new to FPS games, look no further as Just Push Start is here to help you out on our strategies to play co-operatively.
Share Health Packs And Ammo
Resistance 3 doesn’t have a system where you can save health packs to use at a later time. Once you see one and step over them, your health will be rejuvenated automatically.
This type of health recovery system could prove to be a real nightmare if you’re playing with another player. If you have time for a breather, both players should take the time to scout the area of there are any extra health packs lying around.
If both players are in need of health, be sure share the health packs. That is to say, if you see two health packs, take one for yourself and leave the other for your friend. Don’t be greedy and hog all the health for yourself as it’s game over if your friend dies..
However if you’re already at full health and your partner is not, it’s a good idea to let the other player take all the health they can get. This holds true for ammo too. If there’s a specific gun’s ammo your partner is running low on, let them have it instead.
Stay Close With One Another
If your partner ever runs out of health in Resistance 3, you only have 30 seconds to revive them. This countdown will be shortened if an enemy (or enemies) are continuously attacking your partner. If you’re too far away from your partner, you won’t be able to revive them on time and it’s game over.
This is way it’s important to keep close to other player at all times. There are times you may have to separate from one another but this is where communication should play its role. Make sure you know where the other player is. The last thing you want to happen is running around not knowing where your wounded partner is!
If you’re the type of player that loves to sprint ahead all the time leaving you partner behind, Resistance 3 is not the type of game you should be doing this. If you’re the wounded player, you can make life easier for your partner by crawling to a relatively safe area. This way, your partner can avoid getting shot at while they are reviving you. They won’t be able to revive you if you’re in the middle of all the enemies killing you!
SPECIALIZE IN DIFFERENT GUNS
Guns can be upgraded is Resistance 3. Specific guns have different attributes that can prove to be really deadly against some enemies. If you’re playing Resistance 3 for the first time with a mate, it may be a good idea to specialize in different weapons so both players will have heavy fire-power for different purposes. There’s no point both being experts in machine guns as you may struggle killing off the enemies that are at long range.
If one player is a machine gun expert (Carbine or Bullsye) they can shoot the enemies at close range. While that player is going head-on, the other player can stay in the background and kill enemies from afar using the long-ranged weapons (Deadeye or Marksman). The more diverse your duo is, the more effective you will be on the battlefield.
Don’t Be A Hero
If you see a lot of enemies around, don’t try and be like Rambo and think you can go out and kill everyone by yourself. It will almost result in death which can be super annoying for the other player who is playing with you.
As aforementioned, try and stick with each other at all times and kill the enemies together. Flying solo is not a great strategy to use in Resistance 3 as the game can prove to be really tough especially on the last level. Help each other out as that’s what co-op play should be all about.
Watch Where You Throw Grenades
Although there isn’t any friendly fire in Resistance 3, you can still kill your partner if you throw a grenade near them. I remember accidentally throwing a molotov at my partner and he died instantly. The area we were in was really dark and I did not know he was there. Don’t make the same mistake I did and be careful where you throw grenades!
