Variety has reported that the Uncharted film adaptation has a new director in the form of Neil Burger.
Neil Burger has directed the likes of “The Illusionist” and “Limitless”. Neil Burger will not only direct the film but he’ll also be writing the script too.
Neil Burger replaced David O. Russell who left the project earlier in the year due to creative differences.
Fan boys have kind of rejoiced the fact thet the movie has a new director. They hated the fact that Mark Wahlberg was cast as Nathan Drake and that the story wasn’t based on the original source material.
A lot of fans are hoping Firefly’s Nathan Fillion is cast as Nathan Drake. With Neil Burger now responsible for the film, we’ll just have to wait and see if he will listen to the fans or not.
Sony is hoping to make Uncharted a full-blown franchise starting with a series of films and even releasing a few books. Time will tell if Uncharted could be a mega franchise much like Star Wars.
