For those getting ready to pick up SOCOM 4 on April 19th will be happy to know that Zipper Interactive have stated that new copies of the game will include “SOCOM Pro”.
To redeem the code, all that has to be done is locate and enter the code at the back of the manual. This will unlock the “Pro” Custom Game queues. These matches are ranked and will be updated on a consistent basis.
The first set of game types to be released for SOCOM Pro will follow the sets of rules players had a chance to try out during the beta. For those who don’t know, these included:
- Community Day Classic – Suggested by members of Zipper Community Day 2011, CDC offers a medley of different maps that support 8-vs-8 “Classic” variations on Suppression, Uplink, Last Defense and Bomb Squad with faster movement and no ranged explosives of any kind
- Last Defense Run ‘n Gun – Our incredibly fast-paced deviation from our Last Defense gametype that includes speedier player movement, reduced weapon damage, and limitations to sub-machine guns and shotguns only
- SCRUM – A Suppression mod that offers a “Classic” rules-inspired list of features that includes no respawn, no Sniper Rifles, no Concussion, Poison Gas, or Frag Grenades, higher damage and faster character movement
- Sniper Alley – Another 8-vs-8 variation on “Classic” Suppression that boasts higher damage values and weapon restrictions that allow players access to only Smoke and Poison Gas Grenades, Shotguns, and of course, Sniper Rifle
If that’s not enough, the voucher unlocks the M-16 and AK-47 for Spec Ops and Insurgents respectively.
That’s just scratching the surface. Zipper Interactive has much more planned for SOCOM 4 Pro users such as “access to exclusive multiplayer maps, various co-op additions, dedicated leaderboards, and lots more”. Those who buy the game used and decide they want to get in on this exclusive content later on can still access Pro mode. Much like the online passes we’ve been seeing more and more, used owners can buy the Pro pass for $14.99 starting April 26th.
Has this last minute announcement swayed anyone who was on the fence about picking it up on day one?
