Reggie Fils-Aime, the President of Nintendo Of America, revealed recently in an interview with MSNBC that the DSi has shifted over 2.2 Million units since it’s release in April this year.
What we’ve seen is that if you give the consumer great value in terms of what they get for what they pay they’re willing to spend and we say that based on the experience of launching the Nintendo DSi this past April.
Reggie continues, saying that while Nintendo is doing very well in the console wars, its products will not be sold out over the Holidays.
From our standpoint we’re prepared. We have a tremendous amount of product in inventory. We’ve been flowing product into retail. We do not expect to have shortages on our products.
If the executive’s claims are true, then it will be the first time since the Wii’s initial launch that Nintendo’s hardware will be easily available.
