EA’s CEO John Riccitiello has reaffirmed the company’s longing to reclaim that top spot in the FPS genre with Battlefield 3. Riccitiello admitted that Medal of Honor used to have that spot but after last year’s Medal of Honor title failed to reclaim it, EA are “after it now” with Battlefield 3.
He went on to add that EA has “been investing for three years to build Battlefield 3” which is why he believes it will “stand up as the best product in the industry this year”. Strong words but we will have to wait a while yet to see if they are true: let’s hope that Battlefield 3 really is an amazing title to rival Call of Duty as good competition can only drive each games to improvements.
