Game Informer has shared a few more details on Battlefield 3.
One of the major details shared, is that DICE plans for the game to have its own dedicated servers. Also, more was revealed about the game’s multiplayer features.
Game Informer spoke to executive producer, Patrick Bach about squads being in the game.
“Squads are really easy to set up, but how can you take that further? We have some really cool things that we’ll show later when it comes to dictating how you play with friends.”
They also revealed that mods won’t be the same way they used to be in previous Battlefield games. The company is still discussing how to implement mods in the game as the focus right now is to concentrate on the single player, multiplayer and co-op modes in the game.
It looks like the leading platform for Battlefield 3 will be the PC. Patrick Bach comments
“We won’t make it for console and port it to PC — that’s not how we do things. “We’re focusing on PC first, and then we fiddle with it to fit it onto consoles.”
Battlefield 3 will be out later this year for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360
