In New Vegas, there are companions in the game that can aid the character in its journey towards the vast land of the Mojave Wasteland.
There are a total of eight companions that can be recruited. When playing on a hardcore mode, the companions that are recruited can die while players who are playing in Normal mode will just have to worry about their companions losing consciousness. The eight companions that are able to aid the character have its own special perks that will be contributed to the character when in the party.
Below is the guide that helps the player in recruiting all of them. When all eight are recruited, the player will be awarded with a trophy and/or achievement.

October 21, 2010 at 4:41 PMI have been playing the game for about 6 hours and recruited Chris Haversam and ED-D. There is no such thing as “enchanted sensors” the perk is called “Enhanced Sensors” and your missing a bunch of companions-like Chris- there are a lot more then 8. If all of your other posts are full of misinformation like this one I don’t understand why you haven’t been banned from this site.

Unfortunately Nick, after your rant, Mark is correct. And you should play more than 6 hours before you jump to your conjclusions. ‘Enchanted sensors’ perk is a minor typo so that can be forgiven. The companians such as Chris Haversam are temporary companians. They leave once the quest related to them are done. These 8 are the main companians that stay with you and the 8 you need for the ‘the whole gangs here’ trophy. As for ‘ToPsCaSiNoRoBbEr’ you can have one robot and one humanoid/Lily following you at any 1 time. I dont know yet if you can have all 8 at same time, such as leaving 2 at you safe house and taking another 2 with you etc. When i know i’ll post on here

To nick, why do you have to have ago at a person who’s put up helpful info. He’s a nice guy an your tryin to put him down cos of a typo.
To tops casino robber, I think if you send your followers back o the lucky 38 you can have them all at once. But thats about it. You cant leave them in random places.
To anonoymouse(I cant spell), No idea, I think it’s hilairios my self.

December 30, 2010 at 8:37 PMwhat ould probably be the best two followers to have at any given time? (considering the given perk and combat abilities)
cdhinson
January 9, 2011 at 4:26 AMboone is the best follower. he can shoot a man from hundreds of yards away and get him in one shot, as far as his perk goes its the marksman perk which allows you to find targets easier by lighting them up red. Boone is your best ally when your in a fire fight and you need someone to stay back and snipe enemies from afar.. hes strong, quick, and hard to kill. if i were to choose any 2 to have with me it would be boone and rex hands down

January 21, 2011 at 11:21 AMRex is by far the best robot. Once he gets his new brain he’s a formidable character. It’s nice to have a ranged and a melee follower (Boone and Rex), but I’ve found that most fights are incredibly easy with Rex and Lily. Lily hits like a freight train, and, unlike Boone, I’ve only seen her unconsious once…Boone isn’t hard to kill if an enemy gets on him, it’s just that they usually can’t get close enough if both you and Boone are sniping. If you do go with Rex and Lily though, best to take the Spray and Pray perk, as they will both run up to the targets and beat on them, thereby getting in your line of fire if you’re a shooter.

September 23, 2011 at 1:49 PMAs long as you do not finish Veronica Persona Quest (I could make you care) you can have 6 human companion and 1 Ed-e/dog. Here are the step you must follow.
This glitch allows you to recruit all humanoid companions. You need to do this before the quest start.
First, you need to trigger three conversations.
Second, when you trigger the third conversation, Veronica will ask you Hey, you got a second? then reply Not now and the conversation will end .
Third, dismiss Veronica.
Fourth, recruit another humanoid companion.
Fifth, Go to 188 trading post with that companion.
Sixth, talk to Veronica and answer her with the following order What did you want to talk about earlier? Why dont you just go back on your own? I have things I need to do. Youd better be alone. Then the game will treat you as dismiss a companion.
Seventh, talk to her again and recruit her, now you have two humanoid companions.
Eighth, go to next companion you want to recruit.
Ninth, repeat the step six and recruit the third humanoid companion.
Tenth, repeat step six again and recruit Veronica. Repeat step eight to step ten again and again will allow you to recruit all humanoid companions.
