BioShock 2, the sequel, currently in development for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, who’s story is set about ten years after the events of the original BioShock will be available worldwide on Feb 9, 2010 2K Games announced this morning.
“Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture,” according to the press release. “Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.”
Bioshock 2 was originally slated to be released this November, but it was announced in July that the game was being delayed until early 2010. The rationale behind Bioshock 2’s delay, according to 2k Games, was that more polish was needed on the title’s development. Uh huh.. right.. didn’t want to compete with ModernWarfare2 or L4D2 during the holiday season I bet.
