Portable gaming fans will be happy to know that you will soon be able to play Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition on Android and iOS devices very soon. This is because the portable bite-sized version of the RPG has now received an official release date announced by its developer/publisher Square Enix.
Square Enix has now announced the release date for Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is February 9th, 2018. You can pre-register for the game now on both the Google Play and iOS app stores. This version of the game will also be eventually released for Windows 10, although the Windows 10 version of the game still has no definite release date.
That said, this version of the game is not fully free like many other games and apps that get released for smartphone and tablet devices. Only the first episode of the game is free for you to download and play because the other nine episodes you will have to pay for.
The Pocket Version of the game features cute looking chibi character models and is a summary of the main game. It won’t be as huge as the console versions, but it’s still recognizable if you have played the main version on PS4 and Xbox One.
Speaking of PS4 and Xbox One, it sounds like those consoles will not be getting Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition since the main game is already available on those platforms. Steam PC users can finally play the main game when it launches in the first week of March 2018.
Anyway, you can look at the trailer for the game below. It looks cute if you can get used to the visual art style.
