Wii ports of many games including previous Call of Duty games have always looked rough copies, but Treyarch are promising the version of Call of Duty: Black Ops will “blow you away”.
Modern Warfare on Wii last year was a very rough port but Treyarch says this time the Wii version will be similar to that of the 360, PS3 and PC versions. Now this is a massive statement especially with it being a non HD console but the studios head Mark Lamia claims players won’t believe that Black Ops is running on the Wii.
Lamia told ONM “We do everything we can to make the two as similar as possible,” lets hope for 360, PS3 and PC owners this doesn’t mean any features being cut by the developer. Treyarch is still stating they will bring gamers an intense and cinematic experience along side this ‘you can’t believe this is running on the Wii’ situation. High investment has been put into the Wii version as Treyarch is committed to releasing a great game like they did with World at War and Call of Duty 3. Treyarch certainly believe they can, remarking “We’re going to blow you away.”
On other consoles we have come to expect great things from Call of Duty games, expecting to be blown away by something new, amazing and innovative. Maybe with the release of Black Ops Wii owners will also start to expect, to be blown away.
