Injustice 2 will have microtransactions in in the form of in-game currency called “Source Crystals”. Warner Bros. stresses that there is no pay-to-win model and it’s only used to style your fighter.
WB posted all about Source Crystals in Injustice 2 via a blog post. As aforementioned, Source Crystals are basically in-game currency that allow you spend on cosmetic features for your characters. As you can see above, here is Harley Quinn in multiple different colors.
WB says that Source Crystals can be purchased using real money, but they are not required in order to progress further in the game. Source Crystals cannot be used to purchase gear that has any gameplay advantages whatsoever. They stress there is no “pay-to-win” feature in the game.
If you reach level 20 for a character, you can use Source Crystals to save time and level up another character to Level 20 too. No prices for them have been revealed yet, Source Crystals will be available on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace.
