The VR video game Star Trek: Bridge Crew was initially going to come out in the year 2016 but got delayed until March. Now the release date has been pushed back further.
Ubisoft announced that the new release date for Star Trek: Bridge Crew is now May 30th, 2017. You will be able to play it on PC and PS4 via the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR devices respectively.
A cool new feature announced today is that the original Enterprise ship and crew have been added to the game. It will be like if you were actually starring in the old ’60s show.
“The original U.S.S. Enterprise is such an iconic part of the franchise,” says David Votypka, senior creative director at Red Storm Entertainment. “The adventures and relationships that took place on the ship are a special part of Star Trek history, so we were determined to give players the opportunity to create their own adventures and stories on this classic ship.”
VR has been a great avenue for both gaming and the film industry. 20th Century Fox recently announced its foray into VR starting with Alien Covenant later this year.
