Dissidia Final Fantasy has been released in Japanese arcades for quite some time, but a console version is in the works. Fans will be happy to know it will have a story mode and more.
During an interview with Famitsu (via Gematsu), producer Ichirou Hazama and director Takeo Kujiraoka talked briefly on what is to be added into the console version of Dissidia Final Fantasy. It will have more features than what is included in the arcade version.
First of all, Hazama said that fans expect a story mode and this is what they are currently preparing at the moment. The battles are roughly the same, but they will enhance further features over time. It sounds like the console version is still in its early stages.
Kujiraoka also said that they cannot just release the arcade version to console and call it a day as more features are expected to be added. After all, Street Fighter V was criticized at launch for being bare-bones in terms of content.
They are also having e-sports in mind when developing the console version. This is why they are continuing to work on updates to make it a better game. The arcade version of the game has 21 characters and updates continue to be added. By the time the console version arrives, we may see more characters and features.
