A fan wanted to know if The Last of Us 2 would avoid “personal politics” that featured in the first game. The game’s director, Neil Druckmann, confirmed the sequel will still have the same story telling themes and elements.
Neil Druckmann posted on his official Twitter account: “No can do. Writers work off of their views of the world. For example, the ending of TLoU is very much inspired by my “personal politics.”
Druckmann then tweeted out a message that Marvel’s Stan Lee said. The message says: “A story without a message… is like a man without a soul. The user deleted his tweet, but it sounded like he wanted The Last of Us 2 to have no “personal politics” added of any kind.
The Last of Us was praised for its storytelling and it appears the sequel will have the same type of tone and direction. After all, not every video game has to have a shallow storyline.
There’s still no release date for the game, but it will be a PS4 exclusive. We should be hearing more details about The Last of Us 2 later this year. Hopefully something is shared to us at E3 2017.
