With Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 releasing in about two months, Activision announced that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will not feature a single-player campaign.
The game will instead feature the “multiplayer” and “zombies” modes only for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. According to Activision, the “ambitious scope of the 1-4 player co-op Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.”
Please note that when the game was first announced, Activision stated that the game will feature a full campaign mode with the current generation’s four player co-op cut down to two players.
Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will retail for $49.99, while the PS4 and Xbox One version, which contains the single player campaign, will retail for $59.99.
