Nintendo announced that they will release two new Nintendo 3DS models in Japan this October.
According to Nintendo, the “New Nintendo 3DS” will be available in both standard and XL versions.
One of the new models’ main feature is a new C-stick located on the right-hand side, replicating the features of the Slidepad add-on for free camera movement. Upcoming games that will make use of the C-stick include Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Final Fantasy Explorers, Dragon Quest X Online, and Super Smash Bros.
In addition, there will be a new ZR and ZL buttons, as well as a 3D shake prevention function and NFC functionality compatibility. The system itself has a faster CPU, in which the newly announced Xenoblade Chronicles will take advantage.
The new standard Nintendo 3DS model will be available in metallic blue and metallic black variations. It will feature a 3.88 inch screen on top and a 3.33 inch screen on the bottom. It will cost 16,000 yen.
For the new Nintendo 3DS XL, it will be available in metallic blue and metallic black colors as well. It will feature a 4.88 inch screen on top and 4.18 inch screen on the bottom. It will cost 18,800 yen.
Nintendo fans can look forward to the new Nintendo 3DS this October 11th in Japan. No word yet as to when it will release in North America, but it’s most likely expected to come by the end of the year or by March 2015.
