During Nintendo’s Digital Event, we knew of a lot of the games shown, but one major surprise was a new game known as Splatoon. Nintendo is certainly lacking on shooters and this appears to be exactly what Nintendo needed.
This game is very multiplayer focused where you run around a stage while competing with others to paint stage with your color of ink. Instead of being scored on shooting others, that will only give you some points. The main focus of the game is to cover the stage with as much ink as possible, with the winning team being the one with the most territory covered by ink. Also, with the ability to transform into your squid form, you can move through the existing ink with ease to get to new areas as well as just being a quicker way to move around.
