A reimagining of the original Gauntlet, the classic action-adventure game for a number of platforms, was announced recently by Arrowhead Game Studios for PC that fans of the original likely can’t wait to get their hands on when it releases. However, it appears console-only gamers will be out of luck when the game is released.
In an interview with Arrowhead Game Studios’ Robert Tatnell by GameReactor, he was asked about how the classic couch co-op would be replicated since this wasn’t announced for consoles, in which he responded.
We are working on bringing it to Steam, and what that also entails is we’ll actually be bringing it to the Steam Machines as well. So we’re going to bring it to the TV in that respect, working with Steam and bringing it to their boxes.
After asking for clarification, he said “There’s no plans for console at the moment.” This is disappointing for console gamers, but perhaps there will be hope in the future as he only said at the moment.
