One of the features loved by many on the Nintendo Wii was the ability to use the Gamecube controller not only with Gamecube games through backwards compatibility, but also in games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Most gamers preferred the feel of the Gamecube controller for Brawl, especially after it worked so well on its predecessor Melee. With the upcoming Super Smash Bros., many have been disappointed by a lack of the Gamecube controller, but luckily Nintendo has partnered with Performance Designed Products to bring us a Gamecube inspired Wii U Controller for the Wii U.
This new controller will be wired and plug into the Wii Remote for you to use on games that support the Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro. The design will resemble the Gamecube and will feature Nintendo favorite characters like Mario. This new controller will be available sometime this upcoming holiday season for only $24.99, but no official designs have been released, so stay tuned for more information on that in the future.
