Just last month, we learned that Super Smash Bros. was splitting up the Pokemon Trainer trio as Charizard was flying solo now. We saw footage of his attacks, but now we have some more details in today’s latest update.
Masahiro Sakurai gave us not one but two images and captions full of information today on Miiverse, which includes the reveal of a new move and his not too surprising Final Smash.
Pic of the day. Here’s Charizard’s new special attack, Flare Blitz. It’s a very powerful attack–however, you’ll take recoil damage if you make contact. Pretty true to the original game, huh? Flare Blitz is Charizard’s side special move, and Rock Smash is the down special move.
And here’s Mega Charizard X. This will appear as Charizard’s Final Smash.
Flare Blitz looks like it will do a lot of damage, like in the Pokemon games, but also comes at the cost of damaging yourself a bit. We don’t know much about his Final Smash, outside of him changing into Mega Charizard X, so we’ll have to wait and learn more about what exactly he can do in the future.
