With Assassin’s Creed becoming Ubisoft’s flagship game series, we have been getting at least one game per year for awhile now. As a result, it is about that time again for the announcement of the next game in the series, that will likely arrive later this year. While a lot of speculation for the setting has leaned towards Feudal Japan or Egypt, it appears the game could be taking place elsewhere, Russia.
First of all, an image leaked early yesterday on Reddit for something Assassin’s Creed known as Assassin’s Creed: Great Fall. However, many seemed to dismiss this based on font spacing or other various reasons.
Now, a Twitter account known as AC Initiates has tweeted two sets of coordinates. While you would think this is a hoax, considering it is not an official AC account or even verified, but it is being followed by the official Ubisoft account as well as multiple members of the AC staff at Ubisoft Montreal. Due to this, a member named dex3108 on the gaming messageboard NeoGAF investigated further and found the following:
-(4e6f727468) = 110.646 – 55.762667
4e6f727468 means North. Is this location for modern day?
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Un…d6d09816f8c050-(45617374) = 74.795917 – 37.579250
45617374 means East
And if i am right this is final location https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ba…5ca0e66396f068
The second location given is specifically located in Russia, which could provide a very intriguing setting for the Assassin’s Creed franchise. I kind of hope this ends up being legitimate and is for Assassin’s Creed V as it seems to have a lot of potential. We’ve already seen the series venture to Russia in the comics, so why not the games? Hopefully Ubisoft will release some official information about the next entry in the series very soon.
